Vera Ripley, a Marco Island artist, is known for her whimsical paintings of mice that evoke a sense of playfulness and curiosity, creating an intimate connection with people. The Fashion House of Betty the Mouse Exhibit at La Petite Galerie is based on a children’s book written by Vera Ripley and takes on an iconic Parisian vibe complete with a backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
Calling all “mousophiles,” this exhibit is a rare chance to enjoy mouse-themed artworks. Vera’s exhibit at the La Petite Galerie invites viewers to interact with Betty the Mouse and to get to know her in more traditional roles such as preparing for Thanksgiving, decorating a Christmas tree, graduating with Mouse honors, and welcoming a baby mouse.
You are invited to attend the exhibit all dressed up as a Parisian artist, with the classic ensemble of a black-and-white striped shirt, a beret, a red scarf, and suspenders. It captures the essence of a bohemian artist in Paris. Don’t forget to check out the displays of one-of-a-kind mouse-themed collectibles perfect for the holiday gift list.
The uplifting exhibit is open for viewing at the La Petite Galerie at the Marco Island Center for the Arts through December 1, 2026. You are also invited to the Second Tuesday reception on November 10, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM to meet the artist, Vera Ripley.
