The Marco Island Chamber of Commerce recently held a “Networking for Dummies” program presented by Chamber member Dave Longfield-Smith of Costco. President Vip Grover indicated the program is just one example of “your Chamber membership at work.” About thirty attendees showed up to learn the finer points of speed networking. “The facilitator was both informative and entertaining,” said Nancy Carrington of Marco Island Florist. Business cards were flying as each person tried to tell as much information as possible about their business needs within the one-minute designated time frame before turning their attention to gathering as much information from the next business as they had just disseminated. Free coffee, continental breakfast, and door prizes were all provided by Costco.
